An interest in ancient history, archaeology and the natural landscape inspires my work.

Sourcing materials chosen for their surface quality, shape or hue, I often use found objects as my starting point. I also make ceramic elements and experiment with grout mixes and finishes.

I am often drawn to working to a tall slim format suggestive of a 'slice' of the landscape as though glimpsed through a viewfinder; these pieces combine imagery that represents the unseen layers beneath the surface with suggestions of the natural and man made landscape above.
